The Moon Will Live Forever?

The Moon Will Live Forever?

A hypothetical opposite of The Big Bang theory is The Big Crunch. Scientists agree that the finite universe is expanding. In Christianity, it affirms that the Moon will be established forever, and the sky is the witness.

"It shall be established forever like the moon, And the witness in the sky is faithful." (Psalm 89:37)

The Earth's moon was born around 4.5 billion years ago in a titanic collision between our planet and a Mars-sized sibling, according to the leading theory. The enormous impact threw debris into orbit around the young Earth and from this maelstrom the Moon coalesced. Today, the universe continues to expand, and astronomers have evidence to prove it. (1) (2) The Moon is Earth's only permanent natural satellite. It is the fifth-largest natural satellite in the Solar System, and the largest among planetary satellites relative to the size of the planet that it orbits (its primary). It is the second-densest satellite. The Moon has a circumference 10921 km.

One possible scenario for the ultimate fate of the universe is The Big Crunch, which was consequently a product of The Big Bang. (3)  Which is the prevailing dominant theory regarding the formation of the universe. Although astronomers know the universe is expanding, they can't precisely gauge the force responsible for the expansion. Instead, they try to measure the density of the universe. The higher the density, the greater the gravitational force. Recent experimental evidence (namely the observation of distant supernovae as standard candles, and the well-resolved mapping of the cosmic microwave background) has led to speculation that the expansion of the universe is not being slowed down by gravity but rather accelerating.  However, since the nature of the dark energy that is postulated to drive the acceleration is unknown, it is still possible (though not observationally supported as of today) that it might eventually reverse its developmental path and cause a collapse.(4)

If the universe's expansion speed does not exceed the escape velocity, then the mutual gravitational attraction of all its matter will eventually cause it to contract. Eventually all matter would collapse into black holes, which would then coalesce producing a unified black hole or Big Crunch singularity.

In addition, in regards to the etymology of The Moon. The usual English proper name for Earth's natural satellite is "the Moon". The noun moon is derived from moone (around 1380), which developed from mone (1135), which is derived from Old English mōna (dating from before 725), which ultimately stems from Proto-Germanic *mǣnōn, like all Germanic languagecognates. Occasionally, the name "Luna" is used. In literature, especially science fiction, "Luna" is used to distinguish it from other moons, while in poetry, the name has been used to denote personification of our moon.
The principal modern English adjective pertaining to the Moon is lunar, derived from the Latin Luna. A less common adjective is selenic, derived from the Ancient Greek Selene (Σελήνη), from which is derived the prefix "seleno-" (as in selenography). Both the Greek Selene and the Roman goddess Diana were alternatively called Cynthia. The names Luna, Cynthia, and Selene are reflected in terminology for lunar orbits in words such as apolunepericynthion, and selenocentric. The name Diana is connected to diys meaning 'day'.

In conclusion:

The hypothesis described above is just one of many, but the answer will still remain the same none the less. The Bible asserts that the moon will exist forever, which also contradicts Hebrews 1:10-11 & Psalm 102:25-26. Depending on whatever Christians want to arbitrarily cherry-pick. Overall, it is deemed impossible as the universe will eventually come to an end and all the celestial bodies within it will destruct or fade.
