Noah’s Flood Wiped Out Humanity?

Noah’s Flood Wiped Out Humanity?

According to the verses in Genesis chapter 6, 7 and 8. The description of The Biblical Flood indicated that the severe deluge was universal hence it destroyed every living creature and being on mother-earth. Leaving only those present with Noah in the ark to have survived.

“The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. He Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth. Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be three hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide and thirty cubits high. Make a roof for it, leaving below the roof an opening one cubit high all around. Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle and upper decks. I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish. But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife and your sons’ wives with you.
(Genesis 6:1-18)

Depending on whether you talk to a Young Earth Creationist or an Old Earth Creationist. The description suggests that the event took place 1600 years after the creation of Adam & Eve on earth or 300 years before the birth of Abraham, at a time when Noah was 600 years old.(1) The flood is believed to have occurred during the 21st or maybe 22nd Century B.C. The verse is deliberately flirting with a scientific catastrophe. There is evidence from various archaeological sources which indicate that the third dynasty. The Kassite Dynasty in Babylonia (Modern-day Iraq, Kuwait & some parts of Syria) & the Eleventh dynasty, notated Dynasty XI in Egypt were in existence. (2) (3) (4)
Archaeological evidence clearly prove that the Ancient Egyptian Chronology and Ancient Mesopotamia suggest that their time-frame was not interred nor came to a halt during the events of the flood. Rather, they were blossoming as civilizations and societies. Nowhere is there evidence of any carved inscription in ancient Egypt or in ancient Sumerian literature are there notes of the flood wiping them all out of existence.

In addition, approximately five years after the alleged Biblical flood that had wiped humanity off the face of the earth. The Uruk–Gutian war (2116 BC – 2110 BC) had already taken place. (5) The Sumerian king list indicates that king Ur-Utu of Uruk was defeated by the barbarian Guti, perhaps around 2150 BC. The Guti swept down, defeated the demoralized Akkadian army, took Akkad, and destroyed it around 2115 BC. However, they did not supplant all of Akkad, as several independent city states remained alongside them, including Lagash, where a local dynasty still thrived and left numerous textual and archaeological remains. The historical Gutian people have been regarded by some as among the ancestors of the Kurdish people. (6) (7)

In conclusion:

The anonymous authors of The Biblical Literature have a rather fanciful imagination that have stretched through great lengths. The Biblical verses claim that the human race was wiped out of existence with the only survivors being Noah and his people. Yet, on the contrary there were two major kingdoms present and well in existence during the event. This is nothing short of an embarrassment for Biblical Scholars as they do not even have the room to reconcile these dreadful verses that contradict modern-day historian findings. If they were to truly have been the only survivors on planet earth. They still would not have been enough to repopulate in order to come into correlation with the ancient or modern population of humans nor match the dexterity of the civilizations. It should be firmly established that this presented contention has reached the required degree to refute and cause a tragic fatal-blow to the teachings of the sacred Biblical scriptures. As there is no capacity left for reconciliation.
