Is God A Man?

Is God A Man?

The popular mainstream belief among Christians-world wide is that Jesus himself is God, the creator of the Earth and Universe. While other Christian denominations may denounce this claim and assert he was merely nothing but a Prophet, the dominating majority believe the former as opposed to the latter. Individuals of various cultural backgrounds and races have each adopted their own caricature of how they genuinely believe God looks like. From the likes of the Oriental Korean Jesus, to the more popular tall, slim figure, pale, long-hair with blue-eyes Caucasian Jesus and recently there has been a growing faction of an African Black Jesus. All of which are utterly false contentions to describe the physical appearance of an omniscient divine deity. If one were to attribute their God to the likes of human being human beings whom are a part of his creation would only establish a baseless opinion just about to collapse on it's own. The very idea that God is of a certain ethnic tribe, requires information transfer from others.

There are a few objections to this certain argument such as if God were to truly be a man, then what about The Great Pumpkin? or The Ravishing Flying Spaghetti Monster? As presented by many skeptics. Therefore shaping the human-like affirmation to be weightless and a subject to society's bias. The problem with the belief of God being a man or otherwise White, Black or Asian is because they are solely cross cultural beliefs and not natural tendencies. They are merely culturally bound. For example, in order for you to believe that God is Asian it would must have meant you were brought up in a culture where you were taught to believe he was Asian. As a result of this, we have various cultural backgrounds sculpting God to resemble them. However, this creates much conflict and tension to the basic underlying idea of a supernatural cause for the universe as it definitely should not be contingent on culture or a by-product of human imagination which requires information transfer. Therefore, this refutes any notion of a God adopting a cultural appearance and simultaneously seals the argument in regards to the Trinity.

Now from the minority of the Christian's point of view which is based more off empirical evidence and they provide a basis for a coherent argument as apposed to indulging in theoretical pseudo-philosophy . They affirm that Jesus is not God and God cannot be a human as it would only serve nothing but a degradation and a contradiction to his existence. One can find an abundance of evidence within The Biblical Scriptures that particularly implicate he is not a man.  In several verses, we read: “God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind, Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and then not fulfill? ( Numbers 23:19 ) ,"I the LORD, do not change." Malachi 3:6 ). Critics will assert that these verses are to be found in The Old Testament. However, In The New Testament, we read Jesus saying:  And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" (My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?" ( Mathew 27:46 ) , "Jesus answered them all and said, "My doctrine is not mine, but His who sent me." ( John 7:16 ) , "Jesus, knowing that the father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from god and is going back to god." ( John 13:3 ) ,  "Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you is not mine but Father's who sent me." ( John 14:24 ) and the most powerful verse of all which is also found in The New Testament:"And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you hast sent." ( John 17:3 ) They provide a historical fact that God becoming a man was not at all practiced during the times of previous Christians.

In conclusion: The Encyclopedia Americana comments with the following: "Fourth century Trinitarianism did not reflect accurately early Christian teaching regarding the nature of God; it was, on the contrary, a deviation from this teaching." In this article, we have effectively refuted the idea of a deity taking the shape of a human being and his various cultural appearances. All sides claim to be right. However, none are certain. But they will continue to fabricate claims none the less.
